They are not used in the present continuous form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Stative: You <strong>don&#8217;t know<\/strong> the truth.\u00a0<\/p><p><em>Incorrect: You <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are not knowing<\/span> the truth.<\/em><\/p><p>Stative: He really <strong>loves<\/strong> his mom.<\/p><p><em>Incorrect: He&#8217;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span> really <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">loving<\/span> his mom.<\/em><\/p><p>Stative: They <strong>seem<\/strong> satisfied with the proposal.\u00a0<\/p><p><em>Incorrect: They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are seeming<\/span> satisfied with the proposal.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uses of Stative Verbs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stative verbs often express thoughts and opinions, feelings and emotions, senses and perceptions, and possession and measurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thoughts and Opinions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-subtle-background-background-color\"><strong>agree,\u00a0believe,\u00a0doubt,\u00a0guess,\u00a0imagine,\u00a0know,\u00a0mean,\u00a0recognize,\u00a0remember,\u00a0suspect, think,\u00a0understand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feelings and Emotions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-subtle-background-background-color\"><strong>dislike,\u00a0hate,\u00a0like,\u00a0love,\u00a0prefer,\u00a0want,\u00a0wish<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Senses and Perceptions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-subtle-background-background-color\"><strong>appear,\u00a0be,\u00a0feel,\u00a0hear,\u00a0look,\u00a0see,\u00a0seem,\u00a0smell,\u00a0taste<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Possession and Measurement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-text-align-left has-primary-color has-subtle-background-background-color\"><strong>belong,\u00a0have,\u00a0measure,\u00a0own,\u00a0possess,\u00a0weigh<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stative vs Action Verb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Some verbs can refer to both state and action, depending on the context. <\/li><li>In the first example, it is a mental state wherein you express an opinion. Hence, it is in present simple. On the other hand, the second sentence shows that the speaker is presently doing the action of thinking.
