These two are used in absolutely different context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USED TO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use <strong>used to <\/strong>to say that something<strong> existed<\/strong> <strong>or occurred repeatedly in the past that is no longer true.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sentence structure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Subject + used to + infinitive<\/strong>(base verb or simple form of the verb)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I <em>used to<\/em> drive on the left side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She<em> used to<\/em> live in a big city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They <em>used to<\/em> work long hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use <em>&#8216;did not use to&#8217;<\/em> to express it in the <strong>negative form<\/strong>. There is no need to add <em>&#8216;d&#8217;<\/em> to <em>use<\/em> as <strong>did <\/strong>is already in the <strong>past tense<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn&#8217;t use to drive on the left side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BE USED TO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use <strong>be used to<\/strong> indicate<strong> familiarity<\/strong> with something or a <strong>habit<\/strong>. Being used to something means it is not something strange or new to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sentence structure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>subject + be +used to + gerund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I <em>am used to<\/em> driving on the left side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She<em> is used to<\/em> living in a big city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They <em>are used to<\/em> working long hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>negative<\/strong> for be used to is <em>&#8216;be not used to&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I <em>am not used to<\/em> driving on the left side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GET USED TO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is related to <em>&#8216;be used to&#8217;<\/em>. However, &#8216;<em>get used to<\/em>&#8216; talks about the <strong>process<\/strong> of the subject<strong> becoming familiar with or getting accustomed to<\/strong> something.
