These are nouns that you cannot see, smell, taste, hear nor touch. They usually refer to <strong>feelings<\/strong> or <strong>emotions<\/strong>, <strong>states<\/strong>, <strong>ideas<\/strong>, <strong>events <\/strong>and <strong>qualities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Type of Abstract Nouns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Abstract noun type<\/td><td>Examples<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Feelings\/emotions<\/td><td>fear,pain,hope<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>States<\/td><td>denial, confusion, peace<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Concepts\/ideas<\/td><td>Dedication, knowledge, friendship<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Events<\/td><td>youth, birthday, death<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Qualities<\/td><td>honesty, courage, beauty<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Abstract nouns can be <strong>countable<\/strong> or <strong>uncountable<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>It was a bad <em>experience<\/em>. (\u201cexperience\u201d is used as a countable noun)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>I have enough<em> experience<\/em> to do the job.
