The future continuous is used for quite a few different purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*The future continuous can be used to project ourselves into the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This time next month,\u00a0<strong>I will be sun-bathing<\/strong>\u00a0in Maldives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By Christmas,\u00a0<strong>I will be skating<\/strong>\u00a0like a pro.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Just think, next Monday\u00a0<strong>you will be working<\/strong>\u00a0in your new job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*The future continuous can be used for predicting or guessing about future events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>She&#8217;ll be attending<\/strong>\u00a0to the party, I expect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I guess\u00a0<strong>you&#8217;ll be feeling<\/strong>\u00a0tired after working out at the gym.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You&#8217;ll be missing<\/strong>\u00a0the sunshine once you&#8217;re back in England.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*In the interrogative form, the future continuous can be used to ask politely for information about the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Will you be bringing<\/strong>\u00a0your cousin to the concert tonight?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Will Matthew be coming<\/strong>\u00a0with us?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Will Anne be going<\/strong>\u00a0to the party tonight?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Will they be staying<\/strong>\u00a0in this hotel?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*The future continuous can be used to refer to continuous events that we expect to happen in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I<strong>&#8216;ll be seeing<\/strong> Tim at the meeting next week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When he is in Canada,\u00a0<strong>he will be staying<\/strong>\u00a0with his aunt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll be eating<\/strong>\u00a0with Kim this evening.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*When combined with&nbsp;<em><strong>still<\/strong><\/em>, the future continuous refers to events that are already happening now and that we expect to continue some time into the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In an hour,\u00a0<strong>I&#8217;ll still be washing<\/strong>\u00a0my car.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tomorrow,\u00a0<strong>she&#8217;ll still be suffering<\/strong>\u00a0from flu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next year,\u00a0<strong>will she still be wearing<\/strong>\u00a0a size six?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Won&#8217;t stock prices still be falling<\/strong>\u00a0in the morning?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>According to research,\u00a0<strong>sea levels will still be rising<\/strong>\u00a0in 20 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Form The future continuous is made up of two elements: the simple future of the verb &#8216;to be&#8217; + the present participle (base+ing) Subject simple future of the verb &#8216;to be&#8217; present participle You will be cleaning.
