More young people are studying abroad and traveling the globe than ever before.\u00a0Schools, teachers, and even parents are stressing to children, teenagers, college students, and young adults the importance of opening one\u2019s mind to learning about and embracing other cultures, and the perspective and enrichment it brings to one\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

The majority of us\u00a0who took a foreign language course for a couple of years in high school \u2013 and perhaps even college \u2013 might remember a few words or phrases here and there, but most likely the language\u00a0never quite took root, and after your brief vacation in France or Spain or Japan, your brain quickly dumped the information.<\/p>\n

Children who grow up learning a foreign language from a young age \u2013 starting as early as three years old- benefit tremendously.\u00a0Children\u2019s brains are able to soak in a foreign language at an impressive rate. Not only that, but they are essentially able to learn to speak the language perfectly and without an accent.<\/p>\n

1. Better Linguistics<\/h3>\n

Exposing a child to a foreign language at an early age (as early as 3 years old) will result in much easier and better fluency than if they learn later in life.     Bilingual students have been shown to have higher math skills and standardized test scores (including SAT).
