1. What are the reasons students drop out of school?
There are many reasons but the article talsk about four main reasons: lack of motivation, repeated non-attendance at class, the feeling of not being prepared enough, and the student’s preference for employment over education.
2. How can dropping out of high school affect young people’s future?
People that does not finish their studies is more likely to have problem while finding a job.
Also data says that people that did not finish high school studies will earn much less.
3. How do you think can we improve our education system so students wouldn’t choose to stop studying?
I believe that changing the education system to have less student per class will make the difference, because the teacher can have a better understanding of the students, and they will be more engaged to the subjects.
4. Talk about someone you know who is a dropout. Did this person become successful or not?
I know people who leave the studies but at university, which I think that is a different situation. It this case, you can find a job and have a great career if you manage your professional contacts.
5. What would you say to a high school student who wants to stop their studies?
I would show to him or to her that the data is very clear: if you don’t finish high school studies, you are more likely to have difficulties in the future.
