Every culture has something interesting about it. When people from different cultures live in one place, the city becomes a melting pot or multicultural. The world has become smaller because of multiculturalism. It is now very common to see cities that are melting pots of different cultures.

1) What is your opinion about multiculturalism?
In my opinion, multiculturalism is the future. It is growing in the cities and we can find different cultures in more and more cities. It is a good way to learn to respect people with different traditions.

The good thing is that society improves, because we are taking the positive things from each culture and getting a better society. The bad thing is that there are still people who do not respect people who are different from them, so problems can happen in the city because of this.

I live in the south of Spain, in a city called Seville. The truth is that it is not very multicultural.
I have been in multicultural cities, I was recently in New York and I found the different cultures amazing. I found it very curious when I got on the subway and I could see about five people from different cultures. It is a city where multiculturalism is very assimilated.
4)Which culture do you find most interesting? Why?
I think all cultures have their curiosities. To be honest, I don’t know other cultures very well, maybe the Arab culture because it is the closest to Spain and many years ago it was the culture that existed in my country.
5) What is most interesting about your culture?
It is a difficult question because it is a culture that I have learned since I was born and I don’t know what could be interesting.I do believe that it is a culture where order, respect and education exist… but I imagine that in the rest of the cultures it will also exist.

I think the multiculturalism is very good for the humans. With multicuturalism, the people learn the respect each other and I think the brain is more flexible and adaptative in every situation.
In mi case, my family is portuguese, but I was born in Venezuela and I have lived with both cultures and aditionally, I had friends from various countries: Italy, Spain, Colombia, Peru. I have felt very good about this oportunity in my live. When I went to live in Madrid, I felt at home, it’s similar to ours costumes, cultures. It’s a multiculturalism.
What are the good and bad things about a multicultural city?
For me anything is bad in a multicultural city. It’s open oportunities, but it’s very important the own culture of the city, this culture shouldn’t lost.
Now, there are very things about good things in a city multicultural, some:
The people with differents cultures have multiples talents, experience that increment of productivity and possibilities at the organizations and in city in general.
It’s possible the creation de new markets and industries.
The people feel integrated inside the community.
More capacity to open the markets of the city to another countries or regions.

Yes, I live in a multicultural city: Madrid. I have been to New York, this city is the symbol of the multiculture. This experiencie was very nice. I saw people the a lot of part of the world. I went into the “little Italy”, chinatown, this place are representative of multiculture.
Sightseeing in NY was very nice. I went to New York with a friend for vacation twenty years ago. I visited World Trade Center, Empire State, Rockefeller Center, Statue of Liberty.
I remembered the day that we went to the chinatown, we lost in the subway, we felt nervious, but we didn’t stop of laught. I asked someone for our direction, but he didn’t help us, because we laughed. Finally, we call by phone to another friend and she explain us how come back him house.
Which culture do you find most interesting? Why?
I find most interesting the Indian culture because it’s so different to our western culture and I think they have a peace culture. They find to have mind and body in balance and they have a detachment from the material. Also for the beauty of its temples, its clothing with mysticism, etc.
What is most interesting about your culture?
My culture is a mixture of portuguese and venezuelan and this is very reconfortable, we enjoy the good things of both. My portuguese culture our tradition of the dance, tipical customes, our food, but the venezuelan culture is the same, our food: arepa, cachapa…
our dance: tambor. I love our culture.
