Whaling has been part of the Japanese culture for hundreds of years. However, in 1986, it was banned. After more than 30 years of being illegal, commercial whaling is allowed again in this country. Many people are not happy about the return of whaling.

What is on whaling?
There is a desire/wish of eating meat whale.

What is your reaction to the return of whaling in Japan?
I think that It is especially important the protection of nature, and overall, the great sea mammal as whales are. Humankind need how to manage properly nature as a legacy to next generation.

Tell us about another activity that involve killing of animals in your country. What do you think of it?
There are a lot of controversies over bull fighting in Spain. In some Communities were banned and in others are still allowed.

Have you ever tried whale meat? If yes, what can you say about it? If not yet, would you like to try it? Why or why not?
I have never tried whale meat. Reading this question, I am remembering the Jules Verne´s novel 20,000 leagues under the sea. The crew ate whale meat and they enjoyed a lot as if these were beef meat.

What is the most exotic meat you have ever tried?
I do not like exotic meats, for the flavour and price. First for flavour.

I dont like that Japan restarted commercial whaling. Althoug the whaling is the boase of his food culture it’s necessary revaluate the habits and improve them to acord the health of people and the planet.
How is high demostrated it is possible has a healthy life without eating any meat. Vegetal proteins are sufficently.
A tradition in my country is eating snails. And they are goods.
I have never eat whale meat and never would eat it. I like eat my typical foods.

This news surprised me. Strangely this kind of activity is coming back in Japan although the whale is still an endangered animal. I don´t know if the amounts of whales have increased, and that is the reason why kill them is allowed. I am aware of the importance of whaling as part of Japanese culture. In my opinion, Japan is the main one interested in conserve whales because they are part of their traditions.
In Spain, bulls are killed in bullfighters. This activity is not my cup of tea because I don´t like it when the animal is suffering. However, there are some differences in contrast to Japanese tradition. For instance, the bull is not an endangered animal and it is breeding in captivity only for this purpose.
I have never tried whale meat, and I would not like to try it because I don´t want to contribute to whale extinction. Fried ants is the most exotic food that I have ever tried, but I prefer Spanish food.

I´m very sad about it, I think whales are in danger of extinction and the way whales are being killed is not aceptable.

In Spain, the most important cultural activity which involves animals is the bullfighting, there are people fighting to extinguish this activity, due to the fact that bull suffer needlessly. But, people that are in pro of this activity have more influence and power.

I have not tried whale meat yet, I wouldn´t like to try it, because of I don´t agree with whaling, I consider the way people kill whales is an inhuman slaughter.

The most exotic meat I have tried is turtle soup, but, I´m not sure if that soup was actually made of turtle, because of, in that moment, catching turtle was banned in my country.
