*) Have you ever had an annoying neighbor? Have you ever had any problems with a neighbor?

In the last two apartments I have rented I have suffered from a noisy neighbors. In my previous flat, it was an elder woman suffering from schizophrenia, and in the current one a loud speaking person. They are the two most remarkable incidents, but it is not something I can’t live with.

*) What are the common problems that you experience with your neighbors?

The most common problem I have faced in the last years is related to the noise, specially how loud my neighbors speak or play music affecting to my ability to rest properly.

Minor issues like water leaks happen every now and then, but they are neither frequent nor something we can blame our neighbors.

*) How would you describe your neighborhood or the place you live?

I live in a vivid urban area full of life in Madrid. As the neighborhood is suffering a gentrification process, its population is composed of working class, university students and young professional what helps to make it a melting pot of tradition and new life styles also influenced by the closeness to the city center.

Paseo the Extremadura is full of locals, including but not limited to greengrocer’s, butcher’s, fisheries, bakeries, sports stores, book shops and almost everything you can imagine. This image contrasts with the franchising of the city center that is overrunning almost every family run business with big corporations owned ones.

About the landscape of the neighborhood, we fortunately can enjoy Casa de Campo, a big green area, and Madrid Río, a big park used to play sports, in the surroundings.

*) Which would you prefer: living in the city or in the country?

I was born in a rural area and my hometown has almost 5000 inhabitants. Appreciating the calm and tranquility of living in the country is in the lifeblood of who am I. Furthermore, I use to travel monthly to share some time with my family and all-life friends. I feel at home when in every travel I start to see the landscape full of holm oaks. Having said that, being able to develop a career in Computer Science and the dynamic and energetic urban lifestyle resides also in the life I want. I do not think both ways of life are exclusive, I tend to think they can instead try to compliment one another and hybrid models could be a reality. The COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of remote workers can help to stop the depopulation of rural areas and enrich both environments.

It’s quite some experience with your neighbors. Thanks also for sharing about the kind of neighborhood you live in.

Here is the sentence you can improve:

I tend to think they can instead try to compliment one another and hybrid models could be a reality.

I tend to think we can instead try to complement the two and make the hybrid models the commonplace.
