A gap year is when a student take a year off to do other activites before go to the university, for example, travel, work, do volunteer.
The more popular activities to do in a gap year are travel, work, do volunteer service, near or far from home, but activities that you will not have time to experience, when you will start the university.
The advantages are that is a period for disconnect and do things that you don’t have to to do or you will not have time to do in the future, it is a good way to learn how the differents life is after the high school.
The more important disadvantages, I think is that if you are one year without study, maybe it could be difficult start study again, you could lost the habit of studying.
I think that it could be good if you take the opportunity to do activities to learn more about life or that made you grow like a person, for example do volunteer service, but if your gap year is for stay at home all day i think that you are losting the time.
I didn’t take a gap year. If I could go back in time I toke a gap year, because is a good opportunity to do things that maybe you will not ave opportunity to do on the future and it could be good to grow like a person.
