A Plastic Ocean

C1 – Advanced

“With plastic, man is faced with another brainchild run amok. At times it seems that technology cannot exist without it. Plastic may seem indispensable; it is also virtually undisposable. When man is through with it, he is hard put to get rid of it. The plastic that holds a six-pack of beer cans together might last anywhere from 450 to 1,000 years.” (Oceans – Precious Resource or Global Sewer?)

Watch the short video below then express your thoughts about trash polluting our oceans.

this video is a very realistic presentation of The situation that The ocean and The earth are living. It’s a way to let The people know The real consequences of our behaviour. I think that if we don’t do something with this “plastic consumption” we will kill The ocean. Live is a chain and when one of The links is damaged,The chain starts to broken. If The ocean dies, everything will die too. I don’t think The solution will be stopping The use of plastic,It’s needed for a lot of products,we have to re-educate sociedad, kids and adults.
In my city ,supermarkets charge few money if you take a plastic bag, there are trash bins just for plastic,at schools The recicled theme is explained… But i don’t think this is enough,i don’t think It work only with this kind of ways. We need to know The real situation and what could happen if we don’t look after our planet.
