The U.S. News & World Report’s list of “The Best Countries for Raising Kids” in 2020 names Scandinavia as the best place in the world to raise children.

1. Why was Scandinavia ranked as the best place in the world to raise children?
Basically because they have a lot of attributes that people think are good for improve their lives like: income equality, well-developed public education and healthcare systems, human rights, gender equality, safety, family friendliness and so forth. And they ranked as the best according to and inquiry.

2. What factors do you consider that would give the best life for the family especially, children in a certain country?
In my opinion: Quality public education for free. Good and free National Healthcare System. Safety. Gender Equality.

3. How do you assess the condition of raising kids in your country?
It has improved a lot in the last years: better maternity and paternity leaves, improving gender equality, etc.

4. What do you think about the services, initiatives, and incentives that are being offered to families in your country?
From my point of view, Spain have a lot of good attributes already (generous paternal leave and maternal leave, we have a good overall public education systems, a good National Health Care System, etc) we are improving some of them like the income equality etc.. The problem is that we need to improve the quality of our education, and the main issue in Spain it’s the unemployment rate… We need to tackle this in order to be one of the best countries in the world to live in.
