Healthcare

B1 – Intermediate

Access to free healthcare is a basic human right. However, even in rich countries, they are not provided. Because people can’t afford it, they have no choice but to not go to a hospital to get treated.

In an ideal world, everyone should get free medical treatments and medicines. The question is, is this ever possible?

– Do you agree or disagree with this, “Every country must provide free healthcare to its citizens.”? Explain your point.
I am agree with this afirmation. I think in all parts of the world must be a free healthcare system but, It is important that all citiziens contribuite to the system.
The sanity not is free. The healhcare system is bassed in employees contributions with the tax.
– Why do you think rich countries don’t provide free healthcare to everyone?
Because some countries have a selfish tax system and not include healthcare in this.
Rich people can afford go to the hospital with their money and poor people can´t not.
– Is it possible to provide everyone with free healthcare? Why or why not?
Yes, is possible. In Spain have free healhcare. All people can go to the hospital and have discounts in medicine. Some people don´t pay the medicine. Is possible but is complicate.
– Talk about the healthcare system in your country
In Spain the most part of salary go to pay taxes. One part of this, is to contribuite with healthcare.
All people can be to the hospital without pay for the service because we pay this with our salary. It is obligatory. I can´t decide not pay for this.
In my opinion it is good, because there are people who can´t work and need treat, but for another part, also have a lot of people who not want work and beneficiate of the service.
Many people emigrated from spain to other countries in the 1940´s – 1960´s. This people contribuited to the tax systems in anothers countries but, when they retired come back to Spain. They have healthcare but never paid here their taxes. At the time they return, by age, is probably that need de healthcare system more. What I mean by this is that i agree with system but i wan´t destinate the most part of my salary to pay taxes
– What are the most important health care issues in your country?
Oversaturation, few specialist, long waiting times.

Well done writing your answers to the discussion lessons. You did your best!

Here is a sentence you can improve a bit:

Oversaturation, few specialist, long waiting times.

Some of the most important healthcare issues in my country are oversaturation at hospitals, few specialists on duty, and long waiting time for consultations.

Until your next entry!
