There is a new global trend in the automotive industry. Manufacturers prioritize the production of wider, longer, higher, and heavier cars, such as Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and pickup trucks.
In the UK, there had been 10 times more of this type of cars compared to 20 years ago.
The Clean Cities Campaign (CCC) group wants to put an end to this.

Discussion Questions:
1- One of the problem associated is that People hit by larger cars when walking or cycling are far less likely to survive. Also, SUVs burn around 20 per cent more fuel…and require more…battery minerals, so they contaminates more than smaller cars.
I think there should be policies that promote the use of public transport or bicycles to prevent carspreading.
2- In my case, I have a car but I don´t use it to go to the office, just use it on the weekend, but not in the city. I usually use the metro. The car I use it to for long distances.
3- I agree with some points of the CCC. For example, I live in Barcelona and the situation here is similar. It´s a small city and it´s full of cars and SUVs are becoming increasingly common, so it´s difficult to find places to park. So I agree it should be more expensive the fee for larger cars, so maybe people consider using other options in the city.
4- Yes, I do. Is necessary to improve the quality of life of residents and prevent pollution.

I think the longer and heavier cars don’t producier those effects. In my opinion those cars are safer and confortable. I don’t understand why those cars pay more in the parkings because the space is the same.
It is possible that the person responsible for the CCC campaign just wants money.
