Yes, although I think that is important to keep the existing languages as part of the culture of every civilization, I also believe that would be very useful to have a global language understandable for everybody. I would simplify the relationships between foreign countries.

I speak Spanish as my mother tongue, and I am also quite fluent in English. If I decided to study other languages I think that I would choose French or German. Learning Chinese would be also interesting, but I think that it would be a great challenge, mainly because of its different writing system.
