1. What is your stand on the organic food craze?.
I think organic foods became fashionable many years ago, and they’re a good option for health-conscious consumers, as they’re supposed to contain fewer chemical fertilizers and pesticides. But like everything in life, you have to know where to buy them, and make sure they offer guarantees, because they’re more expensive products, and I think there’s a lot of deception.
2. Do you buy organic food? Why or why not?.
Well, I don’t buy organic foods because they’re very expensive, I don’t trust them, nor do I have any guarantees that they’re completely natural and free of chemicals. And because I believe that today, food, especially the agricultural sector in Europe, requires a lot of quality control.
3. Why do you think organic food is so much more expensive?.
Well, I think they’re more expensive because there’s less production per hectare cultivated, greater certification requirements make organic food more expensive, and because it doesn’t use harsh chemicals, organic farming requires more manual labor to control pests and weeds.
4. Do you think that organic food is much better than normal food or are they about the same?.
I think organic food is much better because it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, but I read an article the other day that said there’s no conclusive evidence that it’s significantly better for your health compared to conventional foods.
