I think is a new label for lack of self-confidence and the need to approval for this people. A new label for an old behaviour.
2. Have you ever noticed instances when you or someone you know engage in “confidence dumping”? How does it make you feel?
Well, I see a lot of time this behaviour, in some cases are because the people have a lack of self-confidence, but there are other cases that is because they are extroverts’ people and the really like to be just the centre of all the conversations.
I don’t like it, I can understand them but I prefer other kind of people in order to have a very interesting conversation and have a room to speak about everything not only about the thing one person tell us he does.
3. What are the potential negative impacts of being on the receiving end of “confidence dumping,” both personally and professionally?
It is difficult to bear with this in a medium or long term, you will be bored of them, you would try to avoid them, they are unbearable… (from my personal point of view and maybe because I’m an uneasy person)

This kind of people doesn’t fit in teams’ dynamics, is difficult to integrate them in work teams, and it’s difficult to deal with them. So, in these cases is very important to have a good leader who fix the rules of the work team and for the “good dynamics” and asure all members comply with them.

There are some tips in the article, helpful tips. Also, I think is important to confess to a very good friend and a very good colleague your problem, to receive their feedback and, just in case, receive from them when to stop this behaviour.

In the workplace environment, there are some important tools like the appraisal interviews, you also may ask to your supervisor or your colleague their feedback, and so forth… I think is the best and the most professional way to do it without bored your workmates.
