Interracial marriages are getting more and more common and it’s no longer bizarre when we see a mixed race couple in movies, TV, or in reality. Although it still incites a debate, many people view the topic of interracial marriage from a positive viewpoint nowadays.

What do you think of mixed race relationships? Do you see yourself having this kind of relationship?
When I was younger I couldn’t see myself in a mixed race relationship, I even couldn’t imagine it. However, few years ago I started a mixed race relationship and now we’re happily married. Fortunately, it’s not an isolated case since I know several friends that at least they’ve been in these kind of relationships.

What are the things do you agree and disagree with the article? Explain your answer.
I mostly agree with the article. Being in an interracial relatioship widens the way of thinking of both since they exchange their vision of life and costumes of each culture. The only statement that I could disagree is the one regarding the research from the California University Irvine, in my case I found that people from other cultures that came to live in my country have their heads screwed on right, which is really difficult to find on native people.

What do you think are the benefits and challenges of interracial marriages?
The main benefits are described above in the previous question. Regarding the challenges, I think that the most noticeable challenge that an interracial couple could have is related to the culture. Sometimes it could be a real clash of costumes, but if both are open-minded it’s sure that they could overcome these challenges easily, or at least they could try to understand each other.
