1. I see procrastination as a self-defense mechanism of the mind. As the article states, there could be several reasons for us to procrastinate so, for me, procrastination is like an alarm that tell us that something is not right. Procrastination is good when we are stressed and we do not have enough play time in our lives. It is bad when it is due to our bad daily habits.
2. I totally agree with the article, I think that the enumerated causes of procrastination make sense, and also feel identified with some of them. I would also add another cause, and it is the resistance that our minds put when trying to do something different. For example, if we are watching TV, we could feel that resistance if we try to switch down the TV and start reading a book. Another example could be when we are working into something (focused), it is difficult to stop it to do any other thing.
3. With a lot of will. I try to think that if I do not do something now, I will be thinking of it all the time until I do it, and that can be very stressful. So, I try to do it ASAP to avoid the pain.
Great job with your answers. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic.
Here is one phrase you can revise:
Keep up the good job!
Procrastination is a bad pattern that often creates stress and bad quality work. As far as we can, we must avoid it for the sake of our mental health.
In general, I agree the article and I think that among all root causes, the laziness is the most common as well as the most difficult to struggle. Human nature look for accumulating energy and we have to fight against that to avoid putting off our tasks.
Personally, I get over procrastination thinking that I must drive my life according my planning and not my lazing nature…
You are right; it seems to be human nature. Good job expressing your thoughts about procrastination!
Just a few minor adjustments to make these phrases better:
Keep going.
