Every year in Peru it’s celebrated the Festival of Sun. This Festival, called Inti Raymi, occurs when winter solstice arrives. During the ceremonial an actor play an Incan leader. He pours a corn drink over the ground. Also, the priests sacrifice a llama and they pull out its heart for put it on the fire.

In spain there are a lot of festival. The most famous are Easter (Semana Santa). It commemorates the dead and resurrection the Jesus. The most important acts are the processions. They consists of different brotherhoods carry religious images (usually carved from wood) that represent episodes of the passion and death of Jesus Christ.
3. What other traditional festivities from other countries do you know of?
I remember the Oktoberfest. It is a festival held in Munich since 1810, being the main party in Germany and one of the most important in the world.

As it is a traditional festival, many Peruvians recreate what their ancestors did. Many people go and see how Mother Earth is offered a corn drink. Then, they culminate with the sacrifice of a llama.

I participate in a traditional festival from my area called Moors and Christians. This festival represents the entry of the Moors into Spain and later the Christian reconquest.

In the north of Spain there is a traditional festival called “San Fermines”. People run to escape some Bulls through the narrow streets.
Las Fallas are traditional too. The falleros make giant wooden monuments during the year. These monuments are kept secret until a few days before the festival. On the last day of the festival, these monuments are burned.
