Discussion Questions:

What’s your take on this issue?
I think is a difficult matter, it is absolutely necessary this kind of trials with humans for the sake of all of us.
It is necessary to test that the drug is safe in Phase 1, and its effective against the disease in Phase 2.
These trials are not 100% safe, and this is why is so important to inform very well to the participants in these trials especially during the phase I.
When a clinical trial goes wrong, who do you think is to blame? And why?
You should test before with animals and follow all the scientific procedures before to try with humans.
If the pharmaceutical company do so, there are still some risks that something goes wrong. This is why it’s so important to inform to the participants about all the risks they are taking.
Would you be willing to be participate in a drug trial? Why or why not?
Not at all, you know there are some risks so I prefer to avoid them.
A lot of people that are involved in the trials do it, even though the risks, because they want or they need the money. Of course, there are people that participate for altruistic reasons, for example during the covid-19 pandemic in order to prove the vaccine.
Should scientists stick to animal testing? Why or why not?
Only if the trials with animals are enough to test the drugs and use later in humans, but everybody knows that is not possible for security reasons is needed some trials with humans before to commercialize the drugs
In your opinion, has drug trial safety improved over the years? Explain.

I suppose so, and I think that they use of AI and Big Data analysis can improve these trials even more. Let’s see if that is the case in the short term.

You can articulate your thoughts and write them well. Good work!
