I think that what they do is amazing, they have optimized the cataract procedure to be able to reduce its cost and to reach as many people as possible, and that’s fantastic. But I would really like to know how they prevent cross-infection, with so many patients and so many professionals involved.
How important is this medical project to small cities and developing countries? It’s really important, as it reduces people’s dependency and increases their opportunity to have a better life, to survive for the patient and their family.
Talk about medical projects or missions in your country that you know of. In my city, there’s this project “Casal dels Infants del Raval”, that supports the child and young people of this this socially and economically depressed neighbourwood (El Raval), they promote their schoolarization, grant meals, hygiene, playful time, homework support.
Have you ever volunteered to help those in need? How was that experience? No, I’ve never, but it’s something that I plan to do.
