1. An after school program is a place, monitoring by teachers or social workers, where children wait for their parents after school doing their homework, playing games or making new friends. This kind of projects has a lot of benefits, not only in the family, but on the society in general because kids are in a safe place doing useful things with people taking care of them instead waiting on the streets learning bad habits. For their parents it is also a relief to know that their kids are not in danger.

2. I think that if the budget for after schools cease the society will have more delinquency, a higher unemployment rate, more social conflicts in the near future due to the little attention given to the children. Kids and teenagers are quite vulnerable and they needs people who support, advice and take care of them.

3. Yes, in Spain we have also programs for children and families in social risk like workshops after school to help doing their homework, workshops of dancing or singing on Saturday night to teach teenagers have fun without alcohol, health projects that show kids eat more vegetables and doing more exercise or feeding programs at school to help families with few incomes.

4. In my country there are lots of improvements to do like to teach English or another language since the first day of school. Spanish people have a low level of idioms. We also have to improve on giving opportunities to all the children no matter where they come or the status they have. I think inclusion is the word for a better world for everyone. With people feeling part of this society will be less conflicts and more happiness.
