How did Doug find out where Diane lives? What do you think of this action?
He asked a friend where she lived. I think that these kind of actions usually lead to embarassing or, at least, unwanted situations. I guess there are some other means to contact people that don’t involve going to their homes.

Does Diane seem interested in Doug? What excuses did she make up?
It seems that she’s not interested in Doug, she doesn’t even know his name after he told her! The excuses delivered to him were spontaneous and imaginative, but it’s clear that she doesn’t want to be rude to Doug, she just want to make him understand that she’s not interested in him.

How would you describe Doug based on his responses to Diane’s refusal?
I would say that Doug tends to present a wide range of choices to make it more attractive to her, although I’m sure that, internally, he figured out by himself that it wasn’t working.

Have you ever declined a date invitation? How did you do it?
I hardly can remember whether or not I’ve been in such situation, but I guess I handled it politely because I’m not the kind of person that is brutally honest.

What tips do you have for letting people down easily?
I think that there’s no a magical formula that could apply to everyone, sometimes with some excuses like in the listening could make them understand easily that you don’t want to hurt their feelings. Otherwise, you should be sincere and tell them you’re not into that proposal, but it should be smooth and careful. In short, behave with others the same way as you would like them to behave with you.

You are doing a good job in practicing your writing skills. Keep it up.
