Required examinations are given in order to predict academic progress. Standardized testing determines both teachers and students’ potential future success or failure.

I think they are important tools in order to spot some problems or some capacities… Also to study personality, intelligence, etc.

Not always, but sometimes it’s because the job profile is not accurate and they are using the wrong tests… The ruler must fit to the job

All the standardized test must comply with the two factors and also should be very well tested against a representative population

I had to pass some tests batteries to find a job, if the Company used the correct test for measure the job description I think was OK because they didn’t use only tests, you have to pass face to face interviews, etc.
5. What are some controversies you know of when it comes to standardized testing?
I think the problem is that, years before, Standardized Tests were use like the only criteria to hire people in the Companies, they didn’t use the best tests that fit with the job and also because they want also the people with the best scores (that is not necessary on the contrary is contra productive sometimes)

I think that standardized tests must be design correctly to accurately measures performance.
If they are not desigend properly, they can produce unreliable measurements.

When I finished studying, many inexperienced people like me were looking for a job, and companies gave us standardized tests to measure our intelligence, personality and aptitudes without a previous personal interview. The reliability of these tests was very low
