1. What are your thoughts on and the reasons millennials turning down big job promotions?
In my opinion, I consider that it is good to reject a career advancement if it is supposed other negative consequences for the person in particular. For example, according to the article, if accepting a big job promotion involves more responsibilities and generally not a notable raise in Japan, I see it as a logical situation to turn down the promotion. All this added to a reduction of the time to stay with the family or, in general, to enjoy free time.
2. Discuss how your organization values the division of labor and employee ranking.
In my organization, the roles are perfectly defined according to the role of each employee. In this context, in my department there are two sides (more analytical and other more technical) so there are two managers. They have subordinate employees such as junior and consultant people, so both of them distributed tasks to the staff of the department in conformity with the experience and previous academic training.
For all of these, managers are highest-paid people in my department due to their duties.
3. Share your sentiments on this, “In Japan, more responsibility doesn’t mean more money.“
Despite being that many people are very satisfied with their jobs and they like spending time to develop different tasks, everyone works with a main purpose: to earn money. In Spain, for instance, if an employee has more responsibilities and drawbacks to resolve, they get paid much more than other employees (in a normal situation). Obviously, they have to face meetings and trickier tasks than a person with less experience or other lower role. For these reasons, I totally disagree with the measure imposed in Japan.
4. Share your opinion on this, “Managers are held accountable for their subordinates’ every mistake, and are expected to display selfless leadership, often to the detriment of their personal lives.“
It’s clear that managers should be accountable and review the different tasks of their subordinates, however, in my opinion, it’s important to separate the professional and personal life. It’s unhealthy to leave their life selflessly at work to obtain the best outcomes. Otherwise, the person would be overwhelmed and have negative consequences for mental health.
All of the above doesn’t mean they don’t have to work the corresponding hours and perform as optimally as possible.
5. How important is company loyalty in your country? Elaborate.
In Spain, company loyalty could be influenced by several aspects such as employee comfort, economic aspects or workplace culture, for instance. I will extend my answer for each point:
• Employee comfort. Sometimes, workers decide not to make the switch to another company due to the comfort and the lack of time to search a new offer. They became a lazy people who don’t want to aspire to new challenges and prefer not to fizzle out to their current company.
• Economic aspects. As a result of the fact that many people have drawbacks to find out a job, they sometimes prioritize job security rather than earning much money in another new company.
• Workplace culture. When the workplace culture is pleasant, some employees don’t value the switch to another new job because for them it’s more important the atmosphere than other kind of conditions.
6. What are your aspirations career-wise?
My professional aspirations is acquired more experience in the company I stay now and to highlight in this area in the future, as well as to leave behind the junior position and take up a more senior position. In the cybersecurity field, training is very remarkable, so I will enroll in different courses to obtain new certifications that I can use to improve my knowledge and efficiency at work.
Furthermore, I wouldn’t like advancing for a manager position because from my point of view, it requires many responsibilities and I know that it would cause on me very stress.

It’s completely normal that young people don’t want more responsibilities in their job. In fact, never it is not enough salary to get certain responsibility. Regardless sometimes we think about the jobs without responsibility when really any job has some responsibility. We must learn about our responsibilities as a worker.
On the other hand, not all in our lives is the professional career, but we should find the balance, our balance. Sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice somethings to achieve objectives and finally whatever you want in this life, needs a sacrifice and a responsibility.
In all companies you have more responsibilities than salary but this is the way to be promoted, there is no option. If you are lucky, you will be promoted to better job. But you don’t worry about that because there are many times that you work very well and never the company recognizes your achievements. Anyway, you should find the balance between your job and your personal life, and never look for excuses. We must to be responsible for our actions.

2. The company I am working for gives importance to the division of labor and employee ranking.
