Although owning a home is a basic life goal of most people, renting has become a choice for a lot of people nowadays. Renting a home can be an ideal option for those wanting extra flexibility and less responsibility. For some people, renting might make more sense for their financial circumstances. But is it really better to rent?

1. Are you renting? / Have you ever rented a house/flat?
No, I am not renting a house now but I did rent several in the past.
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of renting?
The advantages of renting are quick access to the house and the mortgage is avoided.
The disadvantages are that the money falls on deaf ears and you depend on a third person when you have a problem with the house.
3. Is it more common for people in your country to rent or buy a house?
In my country, young people with little income tend to rent and older people tend to have their own house.
