There are employees who decide to have some good times to ease themselves from a long-day of working.

Most of them plan for team building activities or have after-work drinks.

However, what if an employee does not join in any of these activities? Is it right to fire him for being ‘boring’?

1. If the reason for sacking him had been not enough socialising I would have stood against. However, it seems the company blamed the dismiss on his poor attitude, so the story is not cristal clear.

2. I would consider my co-workers as “boring” if they did not make any effort for being nice or having even a small chat with their mates. Nevertheless, I think we should be respectful with other’s decisions when it comes to out of office hours.

3. I consider they can help that co-workers get to know each other better and in that way build up a charmer and more enjoyable day-to -day life at work.

4. In my opinion, it’s good making plans with work mates sometimes, but, when it comes to a very absorbing job, it is also good to stablish certain limits between it and your private life.

You are doing a good progress in your writing practice so far.

If the reason for sacking him had been not enough socialising I would have stood against.

If the reason for sacking him had been not been because he didn’t do enough socialising, I would have stood against it/this.
