I couldn’t agree more with Ines! I also think that the situation was hilarious and that the reporter handled the situation really good. I mean, he knew he was caught red-handed and that it might not be professional, but he maintained his sense of humor to deal with it.
If I were the station manager; I would not reprimand the employee either. I would surely talk to him and tell him that this should not happen again. After all, you are “on duty” and you should be ready to go on air. However, I would not make a big deal out of it. I am sure the video went viral and caused an increased audience during the next few days.
I think we all have been caught red-handed at some point in our lifes, and we can all relate, at some degree, to what that man experienced.
Thank you for taking the time in exercising your writing skills. Good job!
Here are a few minor corrections for you:
It was hilarious! He handled the situation perfectly. He was calm, funny and he was very comfortable with the situation. It almost seems it was staged. I assume he has this job position for a long time and he feels “at home”.
If I were the station manager, I would not reprimand the employee because after all it was a relaxed and comic situation. It lightens the mood of the audience and in some way, it may improve the engagement of the viewers. The viewers can relate to the situation. Of course, it cannot be a recurring situation, just a one-time episode.
You do write well and with very minimal mistakes.
Here is how you can write this sentence a bit better:
