It’s a shame to know that tones of food are throw away everyday in our countries while a lot of people around the world are starving.
I think people need to be more aware of this matter. This has to be learnt at school at the youngest: a person should only buy what she/he needs and will be able to consume before the expiry date of the product.
On the other hand, supermarkets should do statistics/study of the consumer habits in their corresponding areas (not all the people will have the same preferences, it will depend on different factors as wealth, culture, life style…) and keep a stock of fresh food according to the results of the study. It will be a double benefit, firstly for the supermarkets because they will save money and have more space on the shelves, and also for the environment.
In my personal case, before going to the supermarket I prepare a scheme/timetable of the food I am going to need for the week, and with this list I do the shopping, knowing that nothing will be thrown away.
Very good job. Take a look at how you can express some expressions better:
…that tones of food are throw away everyday in our countries while a lot of people around the world are starving.
> …that tons of food are thrown away in our countries everyday while a lot of people around the world are starving.
learnt at school at the youngest
> learned at school at a young age
… a person should only buy what she/he needs and will be able to consume before the expiry date of the product.
> … a person should only buy what she/he needs and be sure to consume the products before their expiry date.
On the other hand, supermarkets should do statistics/study of the consumer habits in their corresponding areas (not all the people will have the same preferences
> In addition, supermarkets should do market studies on their consumers’ habits in their respective areas (not everyone has the same preferences
different factors as wealth, culture, life style…
> different factors such as wealth, culture, lifestyle, etc.
and keep a stock of fresh food according to the results of the study.
> and only keep stocks of fresh food based on the results of the said study.
It will be a double benefit…
> It would benefit both the businesses and the environment…
firstly for the supermarkets because they will save money and have more space on the shelves, and also for the environment.
> Firstly, the supermarkets can save money and have more space on their shelves
also for the environment.
> It would also be great for the environment because ( state your reason here ).
I prepare a scheme/timetable of the food I am going to need for the week, and with this list I do the shopping, knowing that nothing will be thrown away.
> I prepare a menu plan so I know what I am going to need for the week and with this list, I do the shopping and I can be sure that nothing will be thrown away.
Thank you very much!
