I think that the housewife’s job is not only demanding but also very ungrateful: housewifes spend along the day cleaning, ironing, shopping, cooking… and at the end of the day, the rest of the family is not aware of the effort and work that these activities have required.
The speaker describes a day in the life of a housewife as a monotonous one. It give us the impression that the wife is the first one to get up in the morning to prepare the breakfast to the family and she will be the last one to go bed when all the tasks have been finished.
In my country, the most common is that the women work outside but also they do the household when they get home. The main reason is because it is very difficult to keep a house with just one salary. Nowadays, more and more men are being conscious about these such tiring jobs and they are involving in some of these tasks.
I consider that my ideal family set-up is a cooperation among all the members. Each one should choose a task and be responsible for doing it. Working in team means that the family can have more time to share and enjoy themselves.
