No, I haven’t. But, to be honest, I’m very interested in.

Not at all. I guess being a people manager is a hard job.

Managing people can be very difficult because there are so many different types of people with different personalities. Managers must find the balance between adopting universal strategies which speak to the individual. And that is an interesting challenge.

4.- What are the positive things about managing staff?

Managing people is a good chance to know different behaviour of professionals as well as helping them to achieve their goals.
Create teams that are more satisfied, motivated, qualified and engaged with organizational goals could be a positive thing too.

5.- What are the qualities of a good manager?

It’s pretty tricky to give advice without having been a manager before. But if I look carefully at the characteristics of the managers I’ve had in the past, I would say that is very important developing leadership skills to motivate and inspire the team, have efficient communication, provide feedback and encourage the employee to develop professionally.

Have you ever managed staff? Yes I have, in 3 companies.
Do you think it is easy to manage staff? Definitively not. It is very complicated, in spite of you make the right decission there may be someone in the who does not like it, so you have to simplify and focus on being honest.
What are the aspects of managing that could be difficult? Basically people’s feelings. Feelings are subjectives and not all the people in the team have a fair vision and sometimes, they cannot be provided with all the information that makes you to make a decission.
What are the positive things about managing staff? As it is said in the podcast, you can develop people’s carreer. I think it is very positive to give a good piece of advise for some people.
What are the qualities of a good manager? First of all, being honest. I think understand people and have a good and deep knowledge of what you are managing it is also extremly important.
