Did you know that an average person keeps roughly 13 secrets? Let’s be honest. Everyone keeps secrets. But sometimes, the burden of having secrets can affect us in ways we might have never considered.

One of the significant concerns in many relationships involves secrets. But when does keeping a secret from your partner go from harmless to hurtful?

Do you like knowing about and finding out secrets of your partner? Why or why not?
I guess we all like to know our partner’s secrets because it’s a way to enrich your relationship with him/her. I’m referring to little secrets of their past life or what do they think about certain subjects or people. Moreover, I could say that it’s better they tell you their secrets than finding them out. If they don’t want to tell them to you often is due to obscure truths.

Are you good at keeping secrets? Why or why not?
It depends, I love keeping big secrets, those regarding family or shocking past facts. But for little secrets or so, I tend to share them
with my acquiantances.

How do secrets affect relationships? Is it healthy to keep secrets in a relationship?
There are different kinds of secrets, it’s not the same to hide your unknown admiration for the spice girls that hiding a secret parallel relationship or parallel family from your partner. And yes, keeping secrets in a relationship will be always healthy as long as they’re not that important.

What’s the difference between privacy and secrets in a relationship?
I would think that privacy has to do with the fact that you often don’t want people know about what you’re doing all the time. Secrets are more related to certain past fact in your life that you’re not willing to share it to anybody.

What kinds of secrets are dangerous?
The ones that implies undermining the honour of others, these are truly dangerous, because once you know them you feel that your confident put a lot of responsibility on you, which is good, but sometimes he/she told it to you just for letting off some steam. And where do you think that steam goes to? Exactly, to you. It’s a double-edged gift.
