1. What’s your take on Robert Watson’s case? I think Mr.Watson did the right thing by suing his boss
2. What are your thoughts on the ruling by the UK court regarding this case? The British tribunal was very considerate to rule a compensation for Mr. Watson and it was also the right thing to do. Mental healthcare at workplaces is usually neglected and a good manager should always make sure to be respectful towards the staff. Creating a good working environment is essential for both the employer and the employees.
3. How does your workplace approach awareness and understanding of conditions like ADHD? My workplace tries to adapt to the needs of all employees. However, it is not always easy. The majority of managers aren’t psychologists and it should be the doctors o mental healthcare professionals who specify those adjustments . Similarly, the employees should inform the company about their personal medical histories before signing any contract.
4. How does your company offer support for workers with special needs? Most companies have tax benefits when they hire people with any type of disability. I suppose it is a good way to fight discrimination at work. Nevertheless, it might turn unfavorable for the company at times.
5. How can one navigate workplace challenges when frustrated with a coworker? THe best thing to do is speak openly and politely about it. Good communication is a must when it comes to resolve misunderstandings. Also, creating a good working environment where employees feel free to speak their minds, take the initiative and be proactive is a key factor.
