Apparently, some Japanese think the opposite. They prefer to explore their own country and its nature instead.

It means to be closed in home or with reduced mobility due to sanitary, military or other critical reasons.
“Our country imposed us several lockdowns trying to mitigate the coronavirus disease expansion”.

A 35% is more than a third percent of the whole Japanese population and in my opinion is a high percentage. That means they are really tired, or scared of travelling, or they do not want to spend money on that, or they are really aware of the climate change.

According to the text, the reasons are several, because they do not want to spend money on that and because they are aware of the climate change and the pollution air-planes produce.

I am still interested in travelling because for me it is really an enriching experience.

I do not thing one is better than the other. My country has a lot to offer but also there are other places whose culture is totally different that it is worth visiting them.

I did not travel during the pandemic but after. Nowadays I am living in another region belonging to my country that has several differences like the weather, the landscape, the culture, the food and even some words used in different ways when people are talking.

I think this is reasonable due to the terrific consequences that have had the pandemic around the world. Nevertheless is a huge per cent, taking into account that Japanese people are people who used to travel a lot before the pandemic comes up, and I believe that is normal that some people have reserves to travel again but is very surprised for me that almost 35 per cent of Japanese people said “they never wanted to leave japan again”, is a hard sentence.
2. What are reasons some Japanese do not want to travel outside of their country again?
One reason why Japanese people do not want to travel is they want to explore Japan. Many people traveled domestically during the pandemic and fell in love with Japan’s nature. Other reasons are the climate crisis and the sustainability of flying. Some people prefer to spend money on nice hotels in Japan than on traveling overseas.
3. How has the pandemic changed your interest in traveling?
The first two years changed quite much, in fact, there were two years when the pandemic breakouts were very present and very often, and was very difficult to travel over our country. I recognized that I have been so prudent about the option of traveling abroad and around Spain.
In 2022, the possibilities increase so much around Spain like abroad, but I’m totally sincere that since the pandemic begins I just travel inside Catalonia my province, I hope to take the opportunity to travel around Spain this year and abroad too.

I like sharing two options, I want to travel around and meet new people, new languages, new cultures, and new places so nature, mountains, and beaches like cities, museums, and traditions.
And I love traveling around my own country because Spain offers a lot of possibilities very differentiated between them. For example, the great beaches of Costa Brava in Catalonia, or the north in Asturias or Cantabria, plenty of Nature. Without forgetting the south, where you can travel through our wonderful Andalucíe where you can Visit Seville, Cadiz, or Malaga among other cities.

No, I didn’t travel to a new city in my country during the pandemic; however, I traveled to known cities in my province, Catalonia, such as Tarragona or Girona.
