Have you ever felt stressed out because of your busy life? Are you sick and tired of the pollution in the city?  Then you might want to recharge and reconnect yourself with nature.

Watch the video below and talk about how immersing yourself in nature will heal you.

Vocabulary Questions:

  1. What does “parasympathetic division (of the nervous system)” mean? “When we step into a natural landscape, our bodies experience a shift from a sympathetic division of the central nervous system, which handles stress, to the parasympathetic division, which handles rest.” Use this term in a sentence.

1. Yes when I stay a lot of days in the city I need to go for a weekend for the house that my parents have in a small town near to the forest. In this town you don’t have a lot of things to do but you have fresh air and many forest with a beatiful landscapes and roads for walk.

2. During the week if I don’t have the possibility to escape of the city I like to play sports or I try to go with my friends to drink or eat something. It’s good if you have the possibility to broke the routine with different plans. When the weekend arrive if continue with the stress sensation I try to go to other town or other place far of the city.

3. Yes I like a lot. For this reason I prefer the spring and the summer in front of autumn and winter because I like a lot the long days, the good weather and all the people are in the streets during this days. It’s very good in general and I have many plans during this seasons. We try to practice sports, walk for the streets or go to drink beer in bars with terraces.

4. Yes totally agree. Probably because you broke the routine of the city or something similar but in my case when I go for a town with a lot of nature, forest and this type of things… I have the sensation to I recover the charge of my batteries.
