Some say that young people nowadays are not willing to follow in their parents’ footsteps in business or lifestyle. 

Read the article to know why some young people choose to follow their parents’ advice when choosing their career and others don’t.

1. I agree that families are a key point on the career path their children can choose. This choice can be in a positive or negative way. Sometimes, they will go on as advised by their parents but others they will do the contrary when they have received bad feedback from the familiar surroundings.
2. I suppose that parents feel proud of what they are doing and want that their children follow the same career path. It is understandable when they have their own business since they will want to go on along the years.
3. My parents and my teachers influenced on me to choose my career path. I wanted to study psychology, but they persuaded me to change into another more productive career since psychology did not have too many options to find a work.
4. Young people see that their parents are not happy with their jobs. Nowadays, children do not like to have compromises and obligations; therefore, if they see that their parents hardly have spare time to enjoy, or they cannot disconnect from work, it is very likely for the children not to want to follow the same steps as their parents.
5. The piece of advice I have given my son is that he must choose what he really likes, nobody has to influence in his decisions since it is one of the most important decisions in his life, his future depends on what he chooses right now.
