Avoiding Political Burnout

B2 – Upper Intermediate 

Current political struggles can lead to many people, even those who are deeply involved in activism, being politically burned-out. This is when one gets to a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion as a natural result of being engaged in emotionally demanding political situations for far too long.

It is important to be able to recognize the signs that you are approaching it or already suffering from it and know exactly how to cope with it.

Here are some helpful tips to help ward off any feeling of political exhaustion.

I agree with that, but not in my case, I don’t like politics, neither politicians, I try to avoid all the news about them, when I buy the newspaper allways left the political news to the end… most of the time simply I don’t’ read it.

We should try to avoid to carry in our shoulders all the problems furthermore in the cases of big problem with a very difficult solution… so is a better idea to share with your colleagues this responsibility.

It a very wise saying… always is better to begin doing things close to you, with the people you know is easier and more efficient… you can’t eat an elephant in only one dinner…
What political issues are you passionate about and those that you are tired of hearing about?
I don’t like politics but I’m fed up with the use of emigration issues for political pourposes… I’m sick of it… it is insane is inhumane, and we need people because there are a lot of jobs that need people and nobady want to do it.

Never, and I hope It will not ever happen to me… I suffered burnout because of the stressful situations we have to deal in the past with a lot of projects, with the deadlines, with the tests, with the deploy in Production environment and so on…

I agree with that. However, it is not the case for me because I don’t like politics nor politicians. I try to avoid all the news about them. In fact, when I buy the newspaper, I always leave the political news last. to the end… Most of the time, I simply just don’t’ read them at all.
