The government’s protection on one’s pursuit of happiness is the main concept of the American dream. People from different parts of the world would like to have a piece of this dream. In order to do so, the first step would be to secure a green card.

There are millions of immigrants who are applying for this to gain residency in America. Every year, a lottery is held by the US government to give out green cards.

1. What is a green card?
It’s a kind of license or pass that the American Government gives to some foreign (immigrants) people ,that allow them to live and work in the United States. According to the article annually they give 1 million green cards under some conditions.
This green card is not an American citizenship card or passport it is only for live and work in the USA.
2. What are the benefits of having a green card in the United States?
As I said before, the Green Card holder can live and work in the USA without problems in a lawful way.
3. Why do people from many countries wish to live in the USA?
The USA is a Great Country, with democracy, freedom and a lot of opportunities, so for some people that live in some countries is a way to escape from poverty, dictatorship, violence, etc.
4. Would you ever want to live in America? Why or why not?
Never, I like my country and, if I have to leave my country, I would prefer to live in a European Country like Italy, France, U.K., Sweden, etc.
