1. The have evolved to be able to digest only blood. Eating blood is dangerous because it may contain deseases and also is hard to digest. The digestive system of vampire bats is prepared to digest it and also they have a strong immune system.
2. Dracula. All the media about human/undead vampires that need blood to survive, while also be able to convert themselves into a bat.
3. I don’t know any local legends about vampires in Spain, but the legends about “vampires” in Transilvania are widely known.
