Do you really think betrayal is a normal part of human life? Why or why not?
I don’t think that betrayal could be that common to be a normal part of human life, however, lies (the younger brother of betrayal) are much more common than betrayal. I guess that betrayal is a stronger fact than lies and it’s reserved for rare occasions.

In your opinion, what do you think are the reasons people betray one another?
I could say that there are two main reasons of betraying, the first and more common could be due to personal interests including passional, economic or political ones. The other reason of betraying has to
do with the inability of coping with the fact of being sincere with others. It’s like telling a huge lie that becomes to a betrayal over the time.

Have you experienced being betrayed? What happened? How did you handle that experience?
As far as I can remember, I’ve been betrayed only once and it was quite hurtful back then because it happened when I was 16, which is an age when a lot of things happen at once and you find yourself not mature enough to face them the best way. I’m not proud to have felt a strong feeling of revenge, but fortunately it all finished without taking any further action, I simply let it go and learned a lot from that experience.

Do you easily trust others? Why or Why not?
Indeed, past experiences didn’t modify my personality and I’m open to whoever wants to come to my life. I believe that thinking about a constant imaginary threat of betrayal couldn’t be the best way of handling your friendships. However I tend to reserve my deepest thoughts to my closest friends, I guess that is the wisest approach.

Always impressive seeing you work hard to write your answers to our lesson’s discussion questions. Very good job!

No I don’t think. I think that, something that could be considered a betrayal for someone, for another one could just be considered a fault, a omisison or something similar.

In your opinion, what do you think are the reasons people betray one another?
People sometimes act desperately and usually it doesn’t end in a good way. I think that we should learn to think before (re)act to a situation.

Have you experienced being betrayed? What happened? How did you handle that experience?
At that moment I though it was a betrayed and my reaction was to isolated myself, but a few days after with the mind more relaxed, I could see that I was just a mistake and then came back to the normal.

Do you easily trust others? Why or Why not?
